Two Lives Bound by a Single Thread

1976: The Founders

Cecilia de Rafael was not born from a simple business plan, but from a shared dream between its founder and his wife. In 1976, in the beating heart of Barcelona, they combined their visions: he contributed the mechanical rigour and engineering of weaving looms, and she provided the creative sensibility and the very name of the brand.

Together, working side-by-side in their workshop, they stitched the brand's identity. Every pattern was drawn together, every fiber chosen in unison. They believed legwear was not an accessory, but a canvas for female empowerment and sophistication. This founding partnership formed a solid family foundation that has guided every collection since.

The Strength of a Standard

Cecilia de Rafael has never been a factory: it is a Barcelona house that designs, selects and demands. When European textile production moved to distant lands, the firm made a firm decision: its garments would be made where the world's finest hosiery is made, in Italy, on precision looms and under strict quality controls. That commitment to yarn chosen thread by thread built the solid reputation we carry today. Half a century later, that standard is our greatest luxury.

Gallery Room III • The Next 50 Years

Weaving the Future Until 2076

The project created by the founders was not designed for a single lifetime. It was built to stand. As we enter our next 50 years, we embrace the responsibility of keeping their fire alive. We look to 2076 by doing what we have always done: choosing the yarn thread by thread and rejecting anything that does not hold up wash after wash.

This is our promise: to keep dressing women with the same precision, aesthetic sensitivity, and artistic focus that saw us through our first steps. Legwear is an art form, and our catalog will remain its museum.
